An increasing number of UK businesses are starting to shake off the recession with latest industry findings showing marketing spend is on the rise.

One of the key barometers of the overall state of the economy, the latest Bellwether survey, has revealed marketing spend is at its highest rate for almost six years.

A sharp upward revision was recorded in marketing budgets in Q2 of this year, clearly illustrating that businesses are taking advantage of the improving economic climate.

Twenty two per cent of companies reported an upward trend in their marketing budgets during the latest survey period, with the internet being labelled as one of the key drivers to overall budget growth.
